London Playground Design Case Study

The Challenge

Northwold Primary School in London approached Image Playgrounds to transform their large outdoor space. They had an existing playground that needed a refresh to offer their students new and exciting challenges.

As a real treat for our team, we were given complete free rein over the design. The school told us they wanted to have equipment that would help their students develop their core strength, body building, and balance. Working to their budget, we came up with something really special for their students.

As there was a large space to work with, we knew this primary school playground could have some big pieces of furniture for the children climb and scramble over. We swapped cold, metal play equipment for natural, wooden equipment to make the area feel warmer and more inviting.

The school wanted their children to have challenges included to encourage active play and physical development. We included a range of adventure playground equipment to help increase strength, problem solving and agility.

Students can work on their strength on the monkey bars and climbing poles. The scatterlog system helps children to work on their balance and agility. The log traverse allows children to hone their skills further.

Children at Northwold Primary School are already enjoying their new playground. It’s been a great pleasure for our designers to work on and we’re really glad the staff and students are so happy with the space.
