Playground Pack Guide | What to Bring to the Playground?

What to bring to the playground?

Planning a trip out with kids can be stressful, so we thought we’d help by putting together a list of things you might want to bring to the playground with you. Having a playground pack ready to go helps you make the most of your time there and keep the whole family happy and healthy.

So what do you need to bring with you to the playground? Take a look at some of the things you can pack to ensure lots of fun for your family on your next trip out.

Outdoor toys

The playground has lots of fun equipment for children to use, but bringing along some of your kid’s outdoor toys only makes it more enjoyable for them. Pack things like balls, skipping ropes, Frisbees… These toys can be shared and can even help your child make friends on the playground.

Avoid bringing electronics or their favourite toy. They’ve come to the playground to have fun with others, not scrap with them over a special doll or truck.

First aid kit

From little splinters to grazed knees, accidents can happen on the playground, but they don’t need to ruin the fun! Having a small first aid kit to hand with products to clean and cover any boo-boos means you don’t have to cut the playtime short.

Don’t forget the sun cream too – it’s so important to protect their young skin.

Wipes or hand sanitiser

Being able to easily clean your child’s hands during playtime helps them avoid picking up coughs and colds from other kids. Wipes and sanitiser is also your best friend if your child decides to pick up something sticky or gross they’ve spotted while they play.

Water and snacks

Kids run around and burn lots of energy on the playground with their friends. Keep them hydrated and energised with bottles of water or juice and healthy snacks and the occasional sweet treat.

A change of clothes

Kids can get messy when they’re enjoying themselves on the playground. Having a change of clothes is a good idea, especially if it’s been raining so they don’t have to sit in wet, muddy things on the way home.

A towel

Having a towel in your playground pack is really useful to wipe down any wet equipment or benches. Whether it’s been raining or there’s still some morning dew that hasn’t yet been warmed by the day, your towel helps avoid wet bums!
