Colburn Primary School

Engaging, fun, EYFS school playground design
traverse wall climbing equiment

The Challenge

The Headteacher at Colburn Primary School asked us to design a playground for their Early Years pupils. They wanted a space that inspired creativity and helped children develop a love of the natural world as they played.

Our designers were very excited to work on this project as they were able to bring lots of fun and excitement into the space. We used some of our favourite pieces of equipment to create an adventurous, sensory play experience for the students.

The Playground

This climbing frame and traverse wall is perfect for the child who lacks confidence to climb. The adventure trail helps children increase their agility, develop strength and enjoy their play time with their friends. By using these active pieces of equipment, children develop their skills and enjoy being physically active in safe environment.

We also included many creative elements in this playground. Children love using the playground stage to put on performances for their class. Outdoor lessons are made simple with our large reading chair and log stump seats too. Students can also enjoy a sensory experience surrounded by plants when using the sand and water table.

This was such a fun project for Image Playgrounds to work on and we’re so happy Colburn Primary School and its pupils love the space so much.
