The Challenge
TheĀ playground in Nether Silton needed to be the social heart of the village. On the boundary of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Nether Silton is the epitome of village life. With a population of 100 people and no bus service the locals were very keen to have a suitable play area for the village children to play on in a safe environment.
Nether Silton Play Area Committee was formed to help organise the project. Paul Nicholson took the lead and had already secured some funding through the North Yorkshire Play builder scheme. Through the committee’s hard work fundraising, they were able to match the funding from the scheme and make their community playground dream a reality.
