Bespoke park climbing frame design
Gunnersbury Park Climbing Carriage

The Challenge

Gunnersbury Park Museum in Ealing is the local history museum for the London Boroughs of Ealing and Hounslow. The museum’s role is to collect, keep safe and display the past and present history of its two boroughs.

This was a tender where we were asked to do a park climbing frame system that resembled one of their old carriages. Our playground designers came up with this themed concept of a carriage which they can climb onto and slide down. Having lots of experience with designing and installing museum playgrounds, we knew we were the right people for this job.

The Playground

We had a lot of fun working on this park climbing frame. It was great to have such a concise brief to meet. We loved getting to flex our creative muscles toward a completely new challenge.

As well as a bespoke playground carriage with climbing and sliding elements, we provided a couple of extra pieces for the play area. No carriage would be complete without a horse! So, we created a stand-alone wooden horse that children can climb on and imagine they’re riding. The horse and carriage also look great next to the stationary penny farthing bike children can ride.

We’ve very proud of the work we’ve done on this project and hope all the visitors to Gunnersbury Park Museum will enjoy the new equipment. If you like what you see, please get in touch with the team to arrange your free playground consultation and site survey.
