Are you climbing the Funding Ladder?

Here at Image Playgrounds we understand the financial difficulties that arise during play area developments.

During initial contact our Play Area Consultants with years of knowledge are there to guide you through funding availability and options.

The starting point for any idea for a playground needs funding. Raising money for a playground can be time consuming this is why having a fundraising strategy is imperative.

Strategic Fundraising

Schools are allocated funding from the Devolved Formula Capital (DFC) or Devolved Formula Capital Grant (DFCG) to support the needs of the school.

There are many sources for funding from school projects to fund raising organisations, charities and local businesses. Schools are allocated annual funding from the Devolved Formula Capital (DFC) or Devolved Formula Capital Grant (DFCG) to support the needs of the school.

How to make your application Stand Out

It is important that applications do not fall at the first hurdle, so it is vital that they are read thoroughly and all the information requested are provided. Since there are a large number of applications submitted, it is worthwhile making your application stand out to avoid rejection.

Explain the need for your project and how it is identified. Most funding companies like to see how a playground can benefit the community at large as well as the children.

Applying for statutory funding requires far greater time and investment in terms of chasing, monitoring and evaluation. On the other hand, donations from companies can of course be given with very little intervention apart from correspondence and a mention at the open day with a big thank you and or letter. But of course make sure that you are happy to be associated with this funder first.

There are lots of events which can be organised throughout the year that can contribute towards the funding of a playground which can be lots of fun.

Here are some ideas:

  • School Fairs
  • Beetle Drives
  • Discos
  • Concerts
  • Quiz
