Playground Surface Care
Be prepared and get ready for the influx of fun and excited children in the spring with playground surface care. All playgrounds have to adhere to Safety Standards EN1176 and Safety Surfacing is EN1177, so act now to prevent any problems from occurring through the winter.
Our rubber safety surface is generally a maintenance free product. It should be kept free of debris and detritus such as leaves at all times. Over hanging branches should be cut out back as far as possible to minimise sap and leaves from landing on the surface.
Safety surface can be affected by adverse weather conditions especially frost and snow due to the ground freezing which can make it slippery. Extra care should be taken when using the equipment. Schools may wish to put this into their risk assessment for their play area. In addition, with the amount of rain we have had, watch out for mold and algae creeping up onto the Safety Surfacing that can created as an offshoot from the trees in the surrounding area.
